READING @ WRA -
The Lindisfarne Reading Challenge
The Lindisfarne Reading Challenge rewards our students for their hard work;
"Sometimes, they might not feel like reading. they might be feeling tired, they might find some of the words tricky to say or to understand, and they'd rather be doing something else like playing football. But it's really important to keep trying, and that's where the reading Challenge comes in."
Together with their English teacher, students choose five books as part of their own personal challenge. These will not be the same books as everyone else, because everybody has different interests and abilities.
They can read the books as quickly or as slowly as they like, so long as students read them themselves and can show their teacher that they know what happened in the story.
Once they have finished their challenge, they get to choose a prize from the options below. It is as simple as that!
All of our students taking part in the Challenge will receive a Lindisfarne Reading Challenge:
- Reading pack;
- Reusable water bottle; and
- Stationary set.
